Default Riverside province and Twin Serpent Lakes question

We don't know this area well. My husband and I finally made it to Riverside Province just last night. My question is this: Is there something out in the Twin Serpents Lakes area worth farming?

I ask this because as we were standing by the gate deciding what skills to take we noticed that there was a steady stream of a lot of Mo/W's running out the gate. It went on for as long as we were there. We don't farm, but it struck us as very odd to see so many running out the gate.

Edit to fix typo.

i am sure they are still trying to farm hill giants which show up at then end of the mission. even though they have been nerfed to not drop as much good stuff it is still not a bad area to farm as the justicars dop good stuff as well.

another nerfing might be in order there as well soon i hope.

I was afraid that might be the answer. I didn't want to think it was bots.

it is actually an old home for them but they have returned there to farm cuase most of the other spots have been nerfed. i guess the reduced items will have to do till they find another spot

Well, Anet probably already knows and is more than likely planning on delievering the killing blow to them being viable (The global drop nerf hurt them enough) sooner or later so there's no point in being secretive.

The Mo/W's are killing Tengu, pretty much. They're all Warrior Types thus are pretty easy to spank with AoEs. They're no Pre-nerf Hill Giants, but you have quick access to four groups of them with 4-6 a head so the drop rate for Gold Armor is decent due to the sheer number of chances you get.

I walked out into Twin Sepent Lakes, and picked up three purple items and a gold item (a really quite excellent Runic Hammer) within ten minutes of entering the area; two purple items from the imps just beyond the portal, and the other two items from the tengu northeast of the lake.

If that drop rate holds for everyone going in there, then, aye—it's a phenomenal farming spot.

P.S. I hope they nerf it the way they did Seekers' Passage: by putting in a few hard-to-kill mobs. That'd make the area challenging on the same level as the Riverside mission itself.

That's a problem, though.

Depending on how challenging they make it, it might force people to bring others along. The need to take others with you effectively makes your chance of getting a drop plummet. That is especially bad for unlocking and pulling in profit for everyone but PvP Guilds and Farming Guilds who can pool their resources.

Of course, I'm not one to farm because I enjoy the action, but it's pretty much served as the only consistent way to get Runes Unlocked for PvP so far. Wealth is another matter, which isn't a big deal unless you want the ridiculously expensive PvE Armor, so I won't get into that.

It's not that big of deal to me since I got most everything I need unlocked and I don't especially care for getting any money in Guild Wars. I just hope (And this is why I even bother to offer my humble viewpoint on the matter) this doesn't negatively effect people who took things slowly.

I've been using it for awhile and it seems pretty well known and visited, so I doubt that anet won't 'fix' it. Though hopefully the pvp system will be good enough so that it won't matter. These tengu elite are definitely better than hill giants/zealots.

I noticed over the past few weeks that there was a guild [dx], with many members constantly farming/botting that area. You guys should check it out.
